2026 PALLOTTINE TEMPORARY AND PERPETUAL CONSECRATION IN NIGERIA

2026 PALLOTTINE TEMPORARY AND PERPETUAL CONSECRATION IN NIGERIA

The Society of the Catholic Apostolate (Pallottines), Nigerian Delegature, celebrated the First (temporary) Consecration of six brothers and the Final (perpetual) Consecration of six brothers on 3rd October, 2026. The event took place in the Chapel of Our Lady Queen of Apostles at the Community Mother House, Mbaukwu, Anambra State, Nigeria.

The brothers who did their First Consecration are:

1. Br Livinus Chisom Okoye, SAC

2. Br InnocentMary Obinna, Atuanya, SAC

3. Br Shaun Chinazaekpere, Aniagolu, SAC

4. Br Vitalis Chinese, Ubah, SAC

5. Br Emmanuel Mathias, Udodoh, SAC

6. Br Collins Abumchukwu, Onyeonaeme, SAC

On the other hand, the brothers who did their perpetual consecration are:

1. Br Innocent Sunday, Okoro, SAC

2. Br Darius Ugochukwu, Mmuokwe, SAC

3. Br Darlington Chijioke, Ezike, SAC

4. Br Cornelius Tochukwu, Anyaonu, SAC

5. Br Kingsley Chibueze, Iloh, SAC

6. Br Paschal Chidozie, Nwankwo, SAC

The event resonates with the vision of the founder of the Society, St Vincent Pallotti, that the Society will grow and be blessed by God. The Provincial Delegate, Fr Peter Ugwuegbulam, SAC, expressed gratitude to God and acknowledged as well the efforts of the various formators who had accompanied the candidates all through their formative years. He reminded the brothers that their call is for service and deeper commitment to communal life and sharing of resources. He exhorted all to reflect on the true Pallottine spirit of charity and total self-giving for the good of all. He charged the confreres to avail themselves to the demands of their consecration and enjoy its unique and beautiful purpose.

The Pallottine consecration involves six promises, namely, Chastity, Poverty, Obedience, Perseverance, Sharing of resource and a Spirit of Service. The first three promises are the evangelical counsels. The last three were added by the founder, St Vincent Pallotti to ensure the uniqueness of Pallottine life and Charism. The Finally Professed brothers received the full habit of the Society in the ceremony.

The highlights of the event equally featured a generous thanksgiving from the family and friends of the professed brothers; a special appeal for vocation sponsorship made by Rev Fr Jude Elui, SAC; as well as the reception of the professed brothers with dancing and feasting. Indeed it was a great celebration which calls on us to reflect deeply on the beauty of consecrated life.

Let us continue to pray for these young men who have committed and consecrated themselves to the infinite Love of God as taught by St Vincent Pallotti. May God strengthen their resolve to live for Him and imbue in them the grace to live out their promises, through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
