2026 PALLOTTINE NIGERIA DELEGATURE ASSEMBLY

From the 22nd to the 26th of June; the Pallottine confreres working in different parts of the country came to gather for their annual assembly.

The assembly was graced by the presence of the Provincial of Heart of Jesus Province, German-Austria, Fr. Markus Hau, SAC.

The Nigeria Delegate Rector, Fr. Cosmas Onwukwe, SAC, welcomed about 26 finally professed members and 3 temporary professed members who gathered for the assembly.

The two moderators, Frs. Fidelis Anajekwe, SAC, and Jimin Cornelius, SAC, led the Confreres through the agendas and deliberations for the assembly. There were annual reports by the Delegate Rector, Vocation Team, Formation Team, Project Managers, Youth Centre Coordinators, various parish priests and vicars, among others. 

The assembly deliberated on the way forward for Pallottine Nigeria entity towards becoming a region. It was indeed a time for reflections, proposals and decision making. Of course, there were moments of fraternal sharing of meals, talks and relaxation.

The Provincial Rector, officially announced the new delegate and local community leaderships after a successful votum by the members of the delegature and approval by the Provincial council. This entails an official establishment of local communities in the delegature.

Fr. Cornelius Jimin Demenge, SAC (Councilor)

Abakiliki Community:

Fr. Jeremiah Okoye, SAC (Rector)

Fr. John Okeke, SAC (Vice)

Fr. Marcel Ezenwa, SAC (Councilor)

The Provincial appreciated the acceptance and availability of these confreres to work for the fruitful growth of the Delegature. He equally appreciated the hard work of the past leadership and the entire members of the Nigeria Delegature.

The assembly ended well with Holy Mass and commissioning of the new leaders by the Provincial Rector, Fr. Markus. The new leadership took effect on Monday 29th June, 2026. We are all invited to join in praying for their success and for Pallottine growth in Nigeria.
